SOUTHERN PROVINCE CEMENT COMPANY ANNOUNCES ITS INTERIM FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31/12/2011 (TWELVE MONTHS)

1. The net profit for the fourth quarter of 2011 reached SR 251 million compared to SR 165 million for the same quarter of previous year, an increase of 52.12%, against a net profit of SAR 180 million during the previous third quarter representing an increase of 39.44%.

2. The gross profit during the fourth quarter of 2011 was SR 267 million compared to SR 180 million for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 48.33%.

3. The operating profit during the fourth quarter of 2011 was SR 254 million compared to SR 171 million for the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 48.54%.

4.The net profit for the twelve months of 2011 was SR 896 million compared to SR 659 million for the same period of previous year, an increase of 35.96%

5. The earnings per share (EPS) for the year 2011 amounted to SR 6.40 against SR 4.70 for the same period of the previous year.

6. The gross profit during the year 2011 was SR 957 million compared to SR 710 million for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 34.79%.

7. The operating profit during the year 2011 was SR 908 million compared to SR 671 million for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 35.32%.

8. The reason behind the rise in net profit in the fourth quarter and the twelve months period was due to the increase of the local sales because of the high demand in the company’s local market. Also there was no unforeseen stoppages in the main production lines and there was an optimum usage of the production facilities in the plants.
