1. Southern province cement posted a net profit of SAR 239 million for the second quarter of 2011 compared to SAR 185 million for the same quarter of previous year, an increase of 29.19%. And showing an increase of 5.75% against the posted net profit of SAR 226 million during the previous first quarter of the year 2011.
2. The gross profit during the second quarter is SAR 252 million compared to SAR 192 million for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 31.25%.
3. The operating profit during the second quarter is SAR 239 million compared to SAR 183 million for the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 30.60%.
4.The net profit for the six months is SAR 465 million compared to SAR 375 million for the same period of previous year, an increase of 24.00%
5. The earnings per share (EPS) for the six months amounted to SAR 3.32 against SAR 2.68 for the same period of the previous year.
6. The gross profit during the six months is SAR 493 million compared to SAR 397 million for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 24.18%.
7. The operating profit during the six months is SAR 469 million compared to SAR 377 million for the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 24.40%.
8. The reason for the rise in net profitin the second quarter and the six months period over the same period last year was due to the increase in the local sales because of the high demand in the local market of the company.
The reason for the increase in the actual net profit over the estimated one was due to the increase in the local sales and the increase in the other revenues.
