SOUTHERN PROVINCE CEMENT COMPANY ANNOUNCES ITS ESTIMATED INTERIM FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 30/6/2012 (SIX MONTHS)

1. The estimated net profit for the second quarter reached SR 262 million compared to SR 239 million for the same quarter of previous year, an increase of 9.62%, against a net profit of SR 284 million for the first quarter of 2012, representing a decrease of 7.75%.

2. The estimated gross profit during the second quarter was SR 270 million compared to SR 252 million for the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 7.14%.

3. The estimated operating profit during the second quarter was SR 262 million compared to SR 239 million for the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 9.62%.

4. The estimated net profit during the six months was SR 546 million against SR 465 million for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 17.42%.

5. The earnings per share (EPS) for the six months amounted to SR 3.90 against SR 3.32 for the same period of the previous year.

6. The total estimated profit during the six months was SR 571 million against SR 493 million for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 15.82 %.

7. The estimated operating profit during the six months was SR 550 million against SR 469 million for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 17.27%.

8. The reason behind the rise in net profit for the second quarter and for the six months was due to operating the second production line in Tahama plant, and there was no unforeseen stoppages in the main production lines. Also there was an increase in the demand in the local markets. as for the decrease in the profits for the second quarter compared to the first quarter was due to decreasing the sales prices as per the decree of the minstry of commerce.
