1.southern province cement posted a consolidated net profit of SAR 225,875,497 for the first quarter of 2011 compared to SAR 189,632,853 for the same quarter of previous year, an increase of 19.11% and showing an increase of 37.06% against the posted net profit of SAR 164,799,483 during the previous last quarter of the year 2010.
2.The consolidated gross profit during the first quarter is SAR 241,212,737 compared to SAR 205,628,083 for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 17.31%.
3.The Consolidated operating profit during the first quarter is SAR 229,723,729 compared to SAR 193,972,073 for the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 18.43%.
4.The Earnings per share (EPS) for the three months amounted to SAR 1.61 against SAR 1.36 for the same period of the previous year.
5.The reason for the rise in net profit over the same period last year was due to the increase in the local sales because of the high demand in the local market of the company
