Beginnings and Establishment
The roots of Southern Province Cement Company date back to 1978, when the company was established under the Saudi Companies Law as a joint-stock company with national capital, with the participation of a group of prominent figures and entities that formed the first foundation of this industrial entity. The city of Abha was chosen as the company’s headquarters due to its strategic location and its vital role in the development of the Asir region and neighboring areas.
The establishment of the company came in response to the rapid development needs in the southern regions, where urban projects, roads, and infrastructure required a local plant capable of providing high-quality cement in quantities that meet growing demands.
The company was established with a capital of 700 million Saudi Riyals.
Commencement of the company’s production at the Jazan plant.

- Capital increase to SAR 1.05 billion through granting one-half bonus share for each existing share.
- Commencement of production at the Bisha plant with a capacity of 1.2 million tons annually.
Increase in capital to SAR 1.4 billion through a 33% bonus issue.
Commencement of production at the Tihama plant with a capacity of 1.5 million tons of clinker annually.
Commissioning of the second production line at the Tihama plant with a capacity of 1.5 million tons per year.
he third cement mill was established at the Jazan Cement Plant with a production capacity of 150 tons per hour.
Commissioning of the third production line at the Tihama plant with a capacity of 1.5 million tons per year.
Commencement of construction of a new production line at the Jazan Cement Plant.
Signing of a contract with Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. to construct a clinker production line with a capacity of 5,000 tons per day and a cement grinding capacity of 10,000 tons per day, along with infrastructure for another clinker production line with a capacity of 5,000 tons per day.
Completion of most phases of the production line construction and commencement of trial operations, with the first trial clinker production achieved on 2025/12/29.

The company began its activities by establishing and operating integrated plants that, from the outset, relied on the latest available industrial technologies at the time. With the expansion of urban development in the Kingdom, the company gradually expanded to include three main plants located in:
• Jazan Region
• Asir Region
• Makkah Region
The production capacity of these plants reaches approximately 30,400 tons of clinker per day, and a grinding capacity of up to 40,000 tons of cement per day, making Southern Province Cement Company one of the largest cement companies in the Middle East.

Head Office – Abha
Southern Province Cement (Asir): A leading cement company, providing high-quality products to support construction projects in the Kingdom.
Asir Region – Bisha Cement Plant
Located in Bisha Governorate, it is the company’s second plant, which commenced production in 1997. It consists of two production lines with a capacity of 9,000 tons per day and 2,700,000 tons of clinker annually.
Jazan – Jazan Cement Plant
Located in Ahad Al-Masarihah Governorate, it is the company’s first plant, which commenced production in 1982. It consists of two production lines with a capacity of 6,000 tons of clinker per day and 1,800,000 tons of clinker annually.
Makkah – Tihama Cement Plant
Located in Al-Ardiyah Al-Janubiyyah area – Al-Qunfudhah Governorate, it is the company’s third and largest plant, with a production capacity of 15,000 tons of clinker per day and 4,500,000 tons of clinker annually.

The company has become, since its listing on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul), one of the key players in the basic materials sector. Its shares are traded under the name Southern Cement with the symbol 3050. The company’s capital amounts to SAR 1.4 billion.
Thanks to its operational stability, commitment to quality and safety standards, and its focus on adopting modern technologies, the company has succeeded in building a strong reputation in the Saudi market and strengthening the confidence of contractors, developers, and government entities in its products.
Awards and Achievements
Throughout its journey, the company has received several recognition awards reflecting the quality of its operations, most notably:
• King Award for the Ideal Factory twice: in 1405H (1985) and 1414H (1994).
• First place in safety in the Saudi House for Consulting Services competition.
The company has also continued to enhance its environmental capabilities by adopting initiatives to reduce emissions and improve consumption efficiency, in line with the Kingdom’s sustainability direction.
